Oatmeal Stout


This is our updated Oatmeal Stout recipe from our beginners brewing  class.

It’s got a nice roasted flavour and a big black colour.

Personally, I love brewing (and drinking) stouts. The aroma of the dark malts as they boil is so rich and decadent and always reminds me why I love brewing!




Grain Bill

Pale Ale 4 kg
Malted Oats 400 g
Roasted Barley 300 g
Chocolate Malt 250 g
Flaked Oats 250 g
Crystal Malt Light 150 g


Olicana 30 g 6.8% AA 60 min
Fuggles 30 g 4.9% AA 15 min


Fermentis Safale S-04 English Ale


Treat mash water with 20ml AMS

Mash at 68°C for 40 mins in 23L Water

Sparge with 9 L water

Boil for 60 mins

Carbonate as desired.
